Oh Baby! Ergobaby commercial work

On a bright and sunny day in Malibu, I met a toddler Giraffe that I fell in love with. My craziest model yet by far, and yet somehow, just as crazy moments and crazy experience mimic, it was unforgettable. Here is the moment when I said good-bye, and he leaned in to give me a kiss.

I am grateful for finding a job that supersedes my expectations of what works should be. In photography, it is as if someone customized the perfect work day to match my loves. Working in teams, on unique locations, outdoors, creatively collaborating and creating; itis my favorite kind of day. So here are a few shoots I worked on with Ergobaby last year.

Newport Pier, Pets and Pretty Hair

Bringing pets to a photo shoot guarantees genuine smiles and loads of fun. Pets have a way of bringing out the most joyful smiles in children, and when the crazy photographer lady is a bit too much, they have someone on their side.

If you are looking for a great shoot, it isn’t such a bad idea to have them tag along.

Having kids bring a bit of themselves to the shoot such as a surfboard is also a great way to capture authentic and personal memoirs of who they are today, things you want to remember forever. But where ever you decide to shoot your family photos, it should be a spot where your kids can have fun, and play!

Rage Against the (VW) Minivan Family Shoot

VW Van family photographyfamily in a vw vanfamily joy

Sadly as a part time photographer and full time mom, reading has been something that I rarely get to do. Most of my reading comes from articles I see that interest me that someone posted to *gasp* facebook!

So my once entertaining books of fiction, are now current event articles, and thought provoking theories on raising kids, or being world conscious, or let’s be completely honest, cool “best photos” collected from the past. Kristen from Rage Against the Minivan offers a wonderful perspective on raising young kids, four of them, in the current issues of the day. She covers issues from school holiday parties, to adoption, but her efforts in raising her kids in the kind of home that is thoughtful of our need to help others, well THAT is what draws me to reading her thoughts.

I had the pleasure of meeting her and her kids on a shoot I did for the recent cover of OC Family magazine. Thanks Kristen!

With a huge amount of help from the styling of Jessica, owner of Little Freebirds in Laguna Beach. They seriously have THE BEST kids clothing out there. You have to check them out next time you are planning a photoshoot for your family!

My sweet Milo (love)

I completely forgot that I was saving these for a Valentine’s post. My sweet nephew, Milo. He is a great subject, as he is so animated, and has the personality of three kids combined. He love pajamas and picking out his own socks for the day. We scheduled this photo shoot for the cover of OC Family magazine. And that reminds me, I have yet to share these covers here on the blog. So, just to show what Bosh Images has been up to, a few of the recent covers Bosh Images landed.oc-three

Photo: NOT by me

blogblog2blog3I would be such a hypocrite if I recommend the whole world spends time and effort to see that they have family portraits….. and I had none of my own. So, to avoid hypocrisy- and at the same time, meet a really cool fun person, I had Tara Whitney take our picture.

The blurry family image is HUGE in our house right now in the form of a canvas. It melts my heart each time I walk down stairs and see it.

Thank you Tara for this amazing gift.

Balboa Island Wedding: Matt + Becky

Families and children are my first love. It fills my heart to be able to connect to them, and capture their joy. But when I met Matt and Becky it felt like I was meeting friends from a previous life. They were long lost friends, and attending their wedding was such a joy. Becky was the sweetest, nicest, most calm bride I have ever seen at a wedding. It was such an honor to share in your special day! Thanks guys, and thanks to Michelle for all your help!

Holiday card review

Just as every parent swears that they don’t have a favorite kid, I do not have a favorite customer card. I don’t. But if there were to be card awards for Bosh Holiday cards, this card would have definitely won most creative. This card was the collaboration of some really creative people and staff of Chalene Johnson, mostly her fantabulously talented model kids!

I first met Chalene after a Hip-Hop class she was teaching. My ankle was still hurting from an injury, and the non cardio lifestyle was getting to me, so I TRIED to attend her awesome class. 10 minutes later I left the class knowing that it wasn’t going to work. Although I knew Chalene was super hip, stylish and fun, what I didn’t know was that she is super big-hearted as well. She came looking for me out in the gym to see if I was okay, and to teach me moves that wouldn’t hurt my ankle.

Months later, she stumbled across some of my past holiday cards and we started sharing our love for creative card ideas. That is when i begged, uh i mean asked her to collaborate with her on this years Johnson card. And it was a lot of fun working with her. Check out what we created. This card had three pieces to assemble, and even had moving parts!

Personal: My little snow zebra

cj-vacationsnowbaordingmy-little-gromI have been taking things easy and working from here. Family time, so much snow, and a new experience for CJ as he learns how to snowboard. It must be the teacher in me, but I get so much joy watching him learn something new.

We put him on a snowboard for now hoping it will slow him down a bit. Last year we were tackling him the whole way down the mountain as he raced down with his skis, and for now anyway, we think the snowboard has given him reason to go slow. So, it may be taking me a bit longer to respond to emails up here, but I sure hope you are having a wonderful start to a great new year!

So fun!! That last one is my favorite (but I also LOVE the jumping in the blue skies)! Such a cute little snow zebra indeed.

Well, for me it seems that with each new year, my aspirations in the fitness sense are more and more lofty. Before having a kid, my goals were unrelated to fitness, like read more books, or get organized. Now, my day consists of little time to eat healthy, and stay fit, and therefore my new years goal almost always entails at least one fitness or health goal. That is why I am so excited to have photographed this beautiful mom for her new website. Park Session: Orange County Family Photography

oc-child-photographeroc-family-photographyJust trying somehow to catch up in editing, order taking, and email responding. I have so much to post, but this will have to be enough for today. These two girls are yet another example of my most favorite subject(s), sisters!

Last night was an amazing night for Dodger fans everywhere, but especially for the 50,000 fans we shared it with at Dodger Stadium. I know many local Angel fans are happy as well. I once predicted if the Angels and the Dodgers ever played each other in the World Series that we would have to mortgage our home to afford all the tickets my husband would buy. Let’s just hope the Angels don’t make it that far. :-)

Thank you for the sneak peak of our girls! Beautiful shots, as always! Can’t wait to see the rest. As a lifelong Angels fan, I hope they DO make it that far–a Freeway World Series in our future? ;)

  2. Suz Broughton

These turned out great!! I love the chair in the middle of the grass. You are such a talent!

  3. Jessica Bodas

    Let’s go Angels! Let’s go! Happy editing….
